Should you wear lace up shoes? Affirmative!
They are a essential element in your gentleman wardrobe. Two of the most common are Wingtips and Cap toes which are both casual and office friendly.
Differences between Wingtips and Cap toe's?

The Wingtip, formally known as a "Brogue" shoe, are characterized by a pointed toe cap with extensions (W) that run along both sides of the toe. Back in the day you wouldn't see these baby's in a office boardroom, Nope, because they were considered outdoor country wear. We see the decorative perforations designed back then only to allow water to drain (thank God for those wet terrains!)
The Cap toe, features that straight edge going across the toe. Even though its generally made for formal attire. This shoe can be worn with slacks, chinos, blazer, or your favorite denim.
These two style shoes are essential for your wardrobe as they are so versatile. Great for your day to day suit and business wear. Based on the wardrobe you have i would say start by looking into a nice black, brown, Bordeaux, or burgundy pair. (Note: If you can try and invest in the best quality shoes that your budget allows.)
You want to take care of your feet as long as possible and more than likely they will last longer! with that i will leave you with this quote from Gloria Hunniford:
"Always buy a good pair or shoes and a good bed. If you aren't in one you're in the other."
