Who, What, When, Wear?

The Derby, to some known as the Blucher were first made for hunting wild boar and playing sports way back in the gap. Then later on someone had the crazy idea that this shoe should be worn around town in their Sunday's best.
Don't think these are the same as an Oxford, though VERY close look closer. You'll see that the Derby is made with "Open Stitches." Now because of this they are considered less formal than their Oxford brethren.
A plus side to this is that the open stitches allow the shoe to open much wider, so if you are a wider foot gentleman they will be easier for you to put on. An easy equation for you:
Leather formal Shoe + Full Day Setting = Derby
The Oxford, a classic staple in your wardrobe. Because of it's minimalistic appearance it is easily a timeless popular dress shoe style. Gaining its history from Oxford University, the oxford is characterized by its "Closed Stitching." Can be worn anywhere from daily office wear to one off events like weddings and ceremonies. (Note: If you will be pairing them with a tux, a patent leather pair will be better.)
The Oxford can do it all and take your style to that next level! Equation to remember:
Leather Shoe +Any Occasion = Oxford
I want to know what your signature pair of dress shoes are and what your favorite ensembles to wear them with, drop it below.
